Our Story
Cornerstone Church is one of the oldest churches in Torpoint, with roots going back to 1795 when John Wesley preached on the banks of the Tamar. Over the years, the church has grown, moved, and adapted from its original building, to an extension in 1908, to the union of the United Reformed Church and Methodist Church members in 1987, which created the Cornerstone Church we know today. Now located on Fore Street at the heart of the community, the church continues its long-standing mission of serving, welcoming, and bringing people together.

Repair Works
As a Grade 2 Listed building, Cornerstone Church requires specialist care to preserve its historic structure. Surveys have identified urgent repairs, including work on the plaster above the Fore Street entrance and ongoing maintenance needed to protect the fabric of the building. Because listed building repairs are more costly and complex, completing these projects demands careful planning and significant funding. Despite these challenges, the church community is committed to safeguarding this important landmark so it can remain a safe, warm, and flexible space for everyone who uses it.
